Elroy C. Taylor, Sr.

Elroy C. Taylor, Sr., 81, of East Third Street, Mishawaka, Ind., passed away at 9:30 a.m. on Monday, Feb. 9, in his residence. Elroy was born on Nov. 1, 1916, in LaGrange, Ind., to the late Arthur and Ida Taylor. He is survived by three sons, James Taylor and William Taylor, both of South Bend, Ind., and Budd C. Taylor of Mishawaka; seven grandchildren, Jimmy Taylor and Sandy Granda, both of Mishawaka, Rick Taylor, Jeanette Taylor, Zachery Taylor and Cassandra Taylor, all of South Bend, and Brooke Taylor of Dallas, Texas; and by seven great-grandchildren, Lindsi Taylor of South Bend, Travis Burks, Brittaney Burks, Brandon Taylor, Jaden Taylor and Taylor Marie Granda, all of Mishawaka, and Aaron Taylor of Elkhart, Ind.

 

Elroy was a retired bartender from V.F.W. Post 360 in Mishawaka, working there for twenty-six years. He was a veteran of World War II in the Navy, and was a member of the First Apostolic Church of Mishawaka.

 

Friends may call from 4 to 8 p.m. today in the Bubb Funeral Chapel North, 3910 N. Main Street, Mishawaka. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. on Thursday in the Bubb Funeral Chapel, with Rev. Gene Ebright officiating. Burial will take place in the Riverview Cemetery, South Bend. V.F.W. Post 360 will be conducting military rites at the cemetery.
