H.W.TAYLOR DIES AT 93

Resident Leaves 130 Descendents in Area

 

Harry W. Taylor, 93, who lived at 727 S. Columbia St., for many years, left 130 descendents when he died at 11:30pm Thursday in the Hillview Convalescent Home, Mishawaka.

 

Mr Taylor and Stella Ambler, whom he married on June 6, 1896, had five sons, Henry, Kenneth, Alfred, Robert and Lloyd, all of South Bend, and six daughters, Mrs. Sylvia Miltenberger, Mrs. Mabel Wise and Mrs. Mae Wagner, all of South Bend, Mrs. Golda Walbridge of Dowagiac, Mrs. Florence Cole of North Webster and Mrs. Lillian Good of Elkhart.

 

He also is survived by 34 grandchildren, 81 great grandchildren and four great great grandchildren.

 

In declining health for the past year, Mr. Taylor came here from Fort Wayne in 1911, where he was born on March 23, 1870.  His wife died on September 30, 1949.

 

He retired from the Studebaker Corp, in 1946 after several years there.

 

Friends may call after 7pm today at the Orvis Funeral Home where services will be at 1pm Sunday.  Rev. Webley J. Simkins, associate pastor of Grace Methodist Church, will officiate and burial will be in Highland Cemetery.
