Sterling M. Taylor, 78, of South Bend, Ind., died on Friday morning, Oct. 20. Sterling was born on April 22, 1922, in Mishawaka, Ind., to George and Sterling Macready. She was preceded in death by her brothers, George, Tom and Robert Macready.

 

She is survived by her husband, Harold Taylor; five children, Judie (James) Woltman of LaPorte, Ind., Robert (Joann) Taylor of Torrington, Conn., Katie (Ralph Komasinski) Humphreys of South Bend, Linda (James) Rohm of Granger, Ind., John (Lynne) Humphreys of Marietta, Ga.; 11 grandchildren and two great-grandchildren; and by her brother, Harold Macready, and sister, Gladys Coil, both of Eugene, Ore.

 

She was a member of the America Business Women's Association and the Kappa Sigma Tau Sorority. Sterling's first love was her family and friends. Sterling's joy came from sharing the bounty of her beautiful gardens.

 

Friends may call from 2 to 4 p.m. today in St. Paul's Methodist Church, 1001 W. Colfax. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. on Monday in the church. Memorial contributions may be made to the Bashor Home, P.O. Box 843, Goshen, IN 46527-0843. The Welsheimer Funeral Home, 521 N. William Street, is handling arrangements.
