William G. Terbush

Mishawaka police and fireman continued to drag the St. Joseph river in east Mishawaka today for the body of a young clam fisherman, identified a few hours after his boat capsized, as William G. Terbush, age 26, of 414 North Wenger Avenue.

 

The young man was a former student at Mishawaka High School, where he was a member of the school football squad, and was widely known in that city.

 

The drowning occurred Monday noon when the young man’s boat tipped and sank in the swift current of the river opposite the Eberhart municipal golf course.

 

Mr. Terbush was born in South Bend Jan 18, 1907 and moved to Mishawaka with his parents when three years old.  He attended St, Joseph parochial schools from which he graduated. He then attended Mishawaka High School and entered at once into athletics, becoming a member if the high school football squad. He attended high school three years.

 

He is survived by his parents, and one sister, Mrs. Hilary Berner of South Bend.

 

The young man was a member of the Holy Name Society of St. Joseph Roman Catholic Church, Mishawaka.
