Johanna M. Thallemer

Mishawaka – Services for Mrs. Johanna Thallemer, 92, of 517 Forest, who died about 10:20 a.m. Thursday in St. Joseph Medical Center, South Bend, will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday in St. Monica’s Catholic Church. Rev. Thaddeus Kwak, pastor, and Msgr. Leo A. Huffman, former pastor, will officiate.

 

Burial will be in St. Joseph Valley Memorial Park.

 

Friends may call until 9 p.m. today in the Thallemer-Goethals Funeral Home, where a rosary will be said at 7:30 p.m. today.

 

She was born on Oct. 13, 1891, in Avila, Ind., and lived here 70 years coming from Avila.

 

As Johanna Vanderbosch, she married William A. Thallemer, and he died in 1958. Surviving are two daughters, Mrs. Mary Jane Ryan of Price, Utah, and Mrs. Martin (Lois) Livers of Franklin, Ind.; two sons, Don of Warsaw and Gerald E. of South Bend; 2o grandchildren; 19 great-grandchildren; and two brothers, Adolph D. Vanderbosch of South Bend and Armandus V. Vanderbosch of Normal  Ill.

 

She was a member of St. Monica’s Church, where she was a member of the Rosary Society, the Legion of Mary and the senior Citizens group. Until last year she had tutored children in reading at St. Monica’s children. A. children’s mass was celebrated for Mrs. Thallemer on her 90th birthday.
