Sister M. Manuelita Thomas CSC

Sister M. Manuelita CSC, died at St. Mary’s Convent Sunday night after an illness of several years. Sister Manuelita was born Susan Elizabeth Thomas in South Mountain, Pa. In 1870. She entered the Congregation of the Sisters of the Holy Cross, in 1888 and received the habit in 1889. In 1894 she made her final profession of vows. She spent the greater part of her life in the Eastern Province of the congregation, principally in Washington, D.C.

 

Surviving are a sister, Mrs. Rose Brady of Washington and a niece, Sister M. Frances Roma CSC of St. Mary’s College.

 

A requiem high mass will be celebrated in the Church of Our Lady of Loretto at 6 a.m. Tuesday. Burial will be in Our Lady of Peace Cemetery at St. Mary’s
