Albert P. Thorstenson

March 6, 1905January 2, 1973

 

Albert P. Thorstenson, 67, of 55016 Ehman Rd., Penn Twp, formerly of South Bend, died at 3:02am today in his home after a long illness.

 

He was born on March 6, 1905 in Paxton IL, and came to this area 30 years ago from Rochester IN.  He married Edith L. Hamlett in Crown Point IN, on January 30, 1926.  She survives, in addition to a son, Phillip E. at home, three daughters, Mrs. Betty Whiteman and Mrs. Beverly Thorstenson, at home, and Mrs. Ted Runyon of South Bend; two brothers, Julius G. of Loda IL and Carl D of South Bend; a sister, Ms. Mildred Townsend of Rochester; seven grandchildren and two great grandchildren.

 

Friends may call from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9pm Wednesday in the Bubb Funeral Chapel, Mishawaka, where final arrangements are being made.  Mr. Thorstenson was a veteran of the US Navy and a member of the Pleasant Valley United Church of Christ and an honorary member of the Mishawaka Fraternal Order of Police.  He was a retired chef and had been employed by Ben’s Grill, Albee’s Steak House and Mark’s Restaurant.

FUNERAL NOTES

Funeral services for Albert P. Thorstenson, 67, of 55016 Edman Rd., Penn Twp, formerly of South Bend, who died Tuesday morning in his home after a long illness, will be held at 11am Thursday in the Bubb Funeral Chapel, Mishawaka.  Rev. Frank Stephens, pastor of the Pleasant Valley United Church of Christ, Osceola, will officiate and burial will be in the Independent Order of Odd Fellow’s Cemetery, Rochester IN.

 

Friends may cal in the funeral home from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9pm today.
