Charles C. Tillor

August 1, 1921 - July 5, 2000

Mr. Charles C. Tillor, 78, of 628 Western Avenue, South Bend, Indiana, passed away following an illness at 10:10 p.m., Wednesday, July 5, 2000, in Memorial Hospital.

Mr. Tillor was born August 1, 1921, in Monticello, Arkansas, to the union of the late Viola and Arthur Riggins. Coming from Chicago, Illinois, he moved to South Bend in 1950, and retired in 1987 from the South Bend Housing Authority.

On July 18, 1957, Charles married Ella Mae Towles, who survives. He is also survived by a stepdaughter, Marian McFadden, a stepson, Robert Towles, both of South Bend, Indiana; several grandchildren; a sister, Vivian Miller of Chicago, Illinois; three sisters-in-law, Ruby (Melvin) Dungey, Carolyn Armstead and Lucille Allen, all of South Bend, Indiana; a brother-in-law, Lloyd Cottee of Indianapolis, Indiana; along with nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

He was preceded in death by a stepson, John Towles.

Funeral services for Mr. Tillor will be held at 12 p.m. Tuesday in Alford's Mortuary. Interment will follow in Highland Cemetery. Friends may call one hour prior to the service in Alford's Mortuary where arrangements have been entrusted.
