Alicia J. Timmons, 78, of South Bend, IN, passed away at 5:52 p.m. Monday, February 26, 2001, in St. Joseph Regional Medical Center. Mrs. Timmons was born on February 2, 1923, in South Bend, IN., to John and Josephine (Jackowiak) Kucharski, who both preceded her in death.

 

On November 16, 1946, in Greenfield IN, as Alice J. Kucharski, she married Robert J. Timmons, Sr., who preceded her in death on May 31, 1997. Survivors include three daughters, Jonna K. (Tim) Stickel of Bristol, IN, Tina M. (Tom) Konecny of Granger, IN, Patricia A. (Paul) Muszik of Battle Creek, Michigan; two sons, Robert J. (Wanda) Timmons, Jr., of Indianapolis, IN., Kip (Christine) Timmons of South Bend, IN; 14 grandchildren, Robby, Bonney, Christopher, Paulie, Michael, Kelly, Laura, Courtney, Alicia, Jessica, Ryan, Anna, Andrew, Jacob; a great-grandson, Chones; three brothers, Stanley (Audrey) Kucharski, John (Monica) Kucharski, Ted Kucharski; and by a sister-in-law, Gene Kucharski. She was preceded in death by a sister, Pauline Zmyslo; and by a brother, Joe Kucharski.

 

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10 a.m. Friday, March 2, 2001, in St. Anthony de Padua Church. Burial will follow in St. Joseph Valley Memorial Park. Friends may call from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. today in the Kaniewski Funeral Home, 3545 N. Bendix Drive, where a parish rosary will be prayed at 3:30 p.m. Mrs. Timmons was a member of St. Anthony de Padua Parish, Harvest House, and was a volunteer Sacristan. "She was considered by her friends to be the light of the neighborhood." "She was a devoted Wife, Mother, Busia, and will be dearly missed." Memorial contributions may be made to Hospice of St. Joseph County.
