Johanna Antonia Toepp

April 02, 1878 - May 20, 1967

Mrs. Johanna Toepp, 89, of 220 S. Eddy  St., died today in St. Joseph Hospital after a brief Illness.

 

Born on April 2, 1878, in Mishawaka, she was the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Adolph Kamm, the founders of the Kamm-Schellinger Brewery in Mishawaka.

 

Mrs. Toepp was married to Frank C. Toepp Sr., who died Dec. 6, 1947.

 

She was the president of the Kamm-Schellinger Co. Inc.; the Columbia Corp. and the of the LaSalle Reality Co.

 

Surviving are a son Burton E. Toepp and a daughter, Miss Geraldine H. Toepp, both of South Bend; seven grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren and a brother, Dr. Bernard A. Kamm, of South Bend.

 

Memorial contributions may be made to the St. Joseph Hospital Auxiliary or to the Christ Child Society.

 

Friends may call in the Hickey Funeral Home after 6 p.m. Sunday.

Services for Mrs. Frank C. Toepp Sr., 89, 220 S. Eddy St. will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday in the St. Joseph Catholic Church with Rev. Joseph Murphy CSC, pastor, officiating.

 

Entombment will be in Highland Mausoleum.

 

Friends may call at Hickey Funeral Home from 6 to 9 p.m. today and 2 to 4 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m. Monday. The rosary will be recited at 3 p.m. Monday by the Circle of Mercy Society. Another rosary will be recited at 7:30 p.m. Monday by the St. Joseph parish.
