Albert S. Torok

Albert S. “Bill” Torok, 90, of East Farnsworth Drive, South Bend IN, passed away after an extended illness at 6:30pm on Saturday, February 13, in Countryside Place Nursing Center, Mishawaka IN.

 

Mr. Torok was born on June 1, 1908, in South Bend and was a lifetime resident of the Michiana area.  He retired in 1975 after 33 years with Indiana-Michigan Electric Company.

 

On February 12, 1934, in South Bend, he married Margaret S. DeVreese, who survives Mr. and Mrs. Torok celebrated their 65th wedding anniversary on February 12, a day before Mr. Torok was called home to be with the Lord.

 

He is also survived by a daughter, Cheryl A. (Frank) Ronchetti of South Bend; a granddaughter, Mindy S. (Bill) Casper of South Bend; a grandson, Michael Ronchetti of South Bend; three great grandsons, Trent and Tyler Casper and Todd Ronchetti; and by a great granddaughter, Alexander Ronchetti.

 

Mr. Torok was preceded in death by a daughter, JoAnn M. Torok in 1937. 

 

Mr. Torok was a kind, gentle man who will be missed by numerous friends.  He was a loving husband, father and grandfather who will be remembered forever.

 

Visitation hours will be from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8pm on Tuesday at Hanley & Sons “Southwest Chapel” Funeral Home located at West Ireland Road/Ind. 23, South Bend.  Rosary will take place at 4pm Tuesday.

 

Funeral services will be held on Wednesday at noon in the funeral home.  Officiating will be Rev. Dermot Gahan of St Matthew Cathedral.  Burial will follow at St. Joseph Valley Memorial Park, Granger IN.

 

Mr. Torok was a member of St. Matthew Cathedral, P.N.A. Club, and the Indiana-Michigan Electric Company Retirement Club.

 

The family request that memorial contributions be made to charity of donor’s choice.

 

The Hanley and Sons “Southwest Chapel” Funeral Home handled services and extend heartfelt sympathy to the Torok family
