Merrill Alford Tracy

June 25, 1902April 4, 1987

 

Merrill Alford Tracy, 84, of 419 University Park Court, died at 9:55am Saturday in St Joseph’s Medical Center.  He retired in 1960 as supervisor of the bindery department of the Russell Dusendach Printing Co, following 39 years of service.

 

He was born on June 25, 1902, in Mishawaka and he lived in the area all of his life.  On June 6, 1926, in Mishawaka, he married Henrietta Ellen Ross, who died October 8, 1950.  On November 3, 1951, in South Bend, he married Georgia Demas, who survives.  Also surviving are a daughter, Jean Ellen Tracy Amick of Ann Arbor; a son, Neal Alford Tracy of Denver; a stepson, Don Madison of Sun City AZ; 14 grandchildren; and four great grandchildren.  A stepson, Bill Madison, preceded him in death.

 

Services will be at 11am Tuesday in the Welsheimer Funeral Home, 521 N William St.  Cremation will take place at Michiana Crematory and burial will follow in St Joseph Valley Memorial Park.

 

Friends may call from 2 to 4pm and 6 to 8pm Monday in the funeral home.  He was a member of the Auxiliary Policemen with the Mishawaka Civilian Defense Council during WW II and a member of Epworth Memorial United Methodist Church, where memorial contributions may be made.
