Frederick Arthur Trippel

July 24, 1873 – June 22, 1966

Mishawaka - Fred A. Trippel, 92, of 221 W. 6th Street, a resident of Mishawaka since 1887, died at noon Wednesday in St. Joseph Hospital. He had been an employee of the Dodge Manufacturing Corp. for 46 years before retiring in 1947.

 

Mr. Trippel was born July, 24, 1873 if Meersburg, Baden, Germany, from where he came to Mishawaka. On June 10, 1903, in St. Joseph Catholic Church, he married Mary A. Wolf, who died on May 1, 1955. 

 

Surviving are six sons, Victor L., Fred A. II, and Joseph B. Trippel, all of Mishawaka, Carl A. Trippel of South Bend, Albert W. Trippel of Auburn, Ind. and Richard C. Trippel of Los Angeles; three daughters, Mrs. Thomas A. Williams of Richmond, Va., Mrs Joseph Gorman of Whiting, Ind. and Mrs. Ernest J. Williams of Wilmington, Del.; 41 grandchildren and 22 great-grandchildren.

 

Friends may call in the Thallemer-Goethals Funeral Chapel after 7 p.m. today. Services will be at 9 a.m. Saturday in St. Joseph Catholic Church. Very Rev. Msgr Curt A. Suelzer, pastor, will officiate and burial will be in St. Joseph Cemetery.

 

Mr. Trippel was a member of St. Joseph Church, the Dodge Quarter-Century Club and Mishawaka Council 1878, Knights of Columbus.
