Mishawaka - Robert J. Trippel, 65, of 317 E. 12th Street, died about 1:15 a.m. Friday in St. Paul’s Retirement Community, South Bend.

 

He was born Feb. 5, 1920 in Mishawaka and was a lifetime resident. He retired from Uniroyal Corp. in 1980 after 39 years of service.

 

On Nov. 27, 1952, in Mishawaka he married Eleanor Bokhart. She survives, along with two daughters, Mary Kay Nagle of Mishawaka and Nancy O’Dell of Montery, Calif.; two sons, Eugene of Mishawaka and Patrick of Hobart, Ind.; two grandchildren; four sisters, Mildred Scheibelhut, Geraldine Gropp and Gertrude Weinkauf, all of Mishawaka, and Pauline Heckman of Lakeland, Fla.

 

Services will be at 10 a.m. Monday in St. Joseph Catholic Church. Burial will be in St. Joseph Cemetery. 

 

Friends may call from 2 to 9 p.m. Sunday in the Thallemer-Goethals Funeral Home, where a wake service will be at 7 p.m.

 

Mr. Trippel was a member of St. Joseph Church and the Knights of Columbus, Mishawaka Council 1878. He was a veteran of World War II.
