Julia Anna Tschida.

Julia Tschida, 92 of Salem, died Monday. Born in Darinvar <Daruvar>, Yugoslavia, she moved to Salem in 1946. She loved to garden and raise flowers, and loved charities and her church.  Her husband, Michael, died in 1981. Survivors include her daughter, Dolores of San Diego, Calif.; sons David of Kalispell, Mont., and Dan of Salem, 12 grandchildren, and 17 great-grandchildren. Visiting will be 9 a.m. to noon Friday at Rigdon-Ransom Colonial Chapel. Rosary will be 1:30 p.m. Friday with services following at 2 p.m., both at St. Joseph's Catholic Church, where she was a member.  Interment will be 3 p.m. Friday at Restlawn Cemetery, with reception following at Carrows Restaurant, 2840 Commerical St., SE.

 

Note: Julia Anna Tschida, wife of Michael John Tschida, is the biological daughter to Anna Farkas’ first marriage to John Benko; she immigrated Feb 13, 1924 and lived in South Bend with her mother and her stepfather, Anton Szabo before she married. She moved to Salem, Oregon in 1946.
