Chester Tuner

SOUTH BEND - Chester Tuner passed away February 5, 2010, In Hawthorne Calif. He was born August 7, 1931, in South Bend, IN, to James and Signora Tuner who preceded him in death along with his sister Beatrice Tuner-Newburn-Jones. Chester was a member of the First AME Church of South Bend, IN. Chester Grew Up in south bend and graduated from Central High and was a member of the Navy Reserve. As a youth he was a caddy and developed a love for golf which remained with him throughout his life. He also loved Baseball and he loved to swim. Chester was an avid sport fan, especially for Notre Dame Sports. Chester moved to Los Angles and worked at Hughes Aircraft Company for a short time before leaving to go into the car industry as a parts manager for a number of car dealerships around the Los Angles area. He leaves to cherish his memory a daughter, LeToya Timmons; his significant other, Ann Cordova; a sister, Garnetta (Donald) Brown of Champaign, IL; his nephews, Odell Newburn of South Bend, IN, Charles (Bobby) Jones of Phoenix, AZ, Douglas Brown of Phoenix, AZ, and David Brown of Manhattan Beach, CA; his nieces, Sharon Newburn of Mesa, AZ, Signora Newburn, Forrest Park GA, Jessie Richardson of Los Angles, CA, Charlotte Brown of Champaign, IL along with a host of great nieces, nephews and host of friends. Chester was an active member of the Inglewood Senior Citizen Club and considered himself a bid -whist champ.
