Fred T. Turnbow

April 4, 1926 - July 24, 2001

Fred T. Turnbow, 75, of State Road 23, Granger, Ind., died after an extended illness at 11 p.m. Tuesday, July 24, in Saint Joseph Care Center West.

Fred was born on April 4, 1926, in Perry County, Tenn., to the late Alvin and Bertha (Kelly) Turnbow.

He retired in 1982 from Ryerson Steel Company in Chicago, Ill., after 32 years of service. Fred was an Army veteran.

Fred married the former Dolores Mora in Chicago on July 15, 1950. They moved to this area after his retirement in 1982.

He is survived by his wife of 51 years, Dolores; a daughter, Linda Turnbow-Grubbs of Granger; two sons, Fred Turnbow Jr. of Florida and John Turnbow of Illinois; four grandchildren, Kelley Turnbow, John Turnbow, Crystal Grubbs and B.J. Grubbs; a sister Cressie Hale of Arkansas; and by a brother, J.B. Turnbow of Tennessee.

Friends may call from 4 to 8 p.m. Friday, July 27, in the Bubb Funeral Chapel North, 3910 N. Main Street, Mishawaka, Ind.

Funeral services will be conducted at 10 a.m. Saturday in the funeral home, with Rev. Ervin Mize officiating. Burial will follow at Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens, Osceola, Ind.
