SOUTH BEND - Mrs. Nellie I. Turnery, 64, of 67042 Hwy. M-62, Edwardsburg, died at 3:15 a.m. Saturday in Memorial Hospital, South Bend, after a lengthy illness. Born on Jan. 17, 1916 in Hugoton, Kan. She had lived in the South Bend area most of her life, moving to Edwardsburg 16 years ago.

 

On Nov. 29, 1934 in South Bend, she married Richard L. Turney Sr. who survives. Also surviving are a daughter, Mrs. Shirley Vanderbosch of Edwardsburg; a son Richard L. Jr. ; five grandchildren; a great-grandson; four sisters, Mrs. Arabella Pataky of South Bend, Mrs. Mary Roys of Shreaveport, La., Mrs. Margie Pratt and Mrs. Eileen Spice, both of Mishawaka; and five brothers, Robert, Clifford and James Teeter, all of South Bend, Donald Teeter of Homes Beach, Fla. and Kenneth Teeter of Osceola.

 

Services will be at 1 p.m. Monday in the Hollis-Palmer Funeral Home. Rev. Michael P. Schultz, pastor of St. Paul’s Lutheran Church, Cassopolis, will officiate. Burial will be in Adamsville Cemetery, Edwardsburg. Friends may call from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. today in the funeral home., Memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society.
