Freddie Krauss Turnock

SOUTH BEND - Mrs. Freddie Krauss Turnock, 76, of South Bend, Ind., passed away on Thursday morning, Feb. 5, in Cardinal Healthcare. She was born in South Bend on March 5, 1921, to Hans and Eva (Mathews) Krauss, who preceded her in death. She was also preceded in death by two sisters, M. Gertrude Newman and Blanche Rae Krauss.

 

On Sept. 13, 1947, in South Bend, she married Robert L. Turnock, who survives. She is also survived by a son, Thomas L. of LaGuna Beach, Calif.; two grandchildren, Todd L. Turnock of Evansville, Ind., and Kerri Matteran of Noblesville, Ind.; and by a brother, Richard F. Krauss of San Jose, Calif.

 

Mrs. Turnock was a longtime member of St. Patrick's Catholic Church, where a funeral Mass will be held at 10 a.m. on Monday, with Rev. Charles Lavely, C.S.C., officiating. Burial will follow in Highland Cemetery. Friends are invited to call from 2 to 4 p.m. on Sunday at the Welsheimer Funeral Home, 521 N. William Street. There will be a vigil service at 3 p.m. in the funeral home. The family has asked that, in lieu of flowers, contributions in Freddie's memory be made to the St. Patrick's Catholic Church building fund.
