Virginia Tylavsky, 79, of South 32nd Street, South Bend, Ind., passed away at 6:17 a.m. on Sunday, Dec. 16, in the St. Joseph Hospital, Fort Wayne, Ind.

Virginia was born on Feb. 15, 1922, in Mishawaka, Ind., to the late John and Virginia (Bronkowski) Kubiak. On June 1, 1946, Virginia married George J. Tylavsky Sr., who preceded her in death on Aug. 7, 1991. She was also preceded in death by a son, James Tylavsky in 2000; and by two brothers, Victor (1991) and John (1980) Kubiak.

Virginia is survived by three daughters, Georgine Martin of Lancaster, Pa., Susan Thistlethwaite of White Pigeon, Mich., and Diane Halsey of Edwardsburg, Mich.; four sons, Michael Tylavsky of Mishawaka, George Tylavsky Jr. and Lawrence Rouhselang, both of South Bend, and Bernard Rouhselang of Granger, Ind.; and by 14 grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren.

Visitation will be from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. today, Dec. 18, in the Thallemer-Goethals Funeral Home, Mishawaka.

Services will be held at 10 a.m. on Wednesday, Dec. 19, in the funeral home, with Fr. Robert A. Yast officiating. Interment will follow at St. Joseph Valley Memorial Park, Granger.
