Mrs. Gertrude R. Tyler

Mrs. Gertrude R. Tyler,  89, of the Fountainview Nursing Home, Mishawaka,

died at 4:50 a.m. today at the  home after a lengthy illness. Born on Nov. 15,

1892, in cook County, Ill., she  had lived here for 60 years after coming from

LaPorte. On May 29, 1917, in  LaPorte, she married Arthur H. Tyler. He died on

Oct. 18, 1978. She is survived  by two daughters, Mrs. Jeannette Lever of

Madras, Ore., and Mrs. Mary Jo Beemer  of Mishawaka; six grandchildren.

Services will be at  11 a.m. Wednesday in the Welsheimer Funeral Home, 521 N.

William. Rev. Kenneth  R. Hemphill, pastor of the Olive Chapel United Church

of Christ, will officiate.  Entombment will be in Highland Mausoleum. Friends

may call  from 4 to 8  p.m. Tuesday in the funeral home. She was a member of

the First United Methodist  Women, the Women's Society of Christian Services,

the Order of the Eastern Star  Chapter 2, the South Bend Shrine Club Auxiliary,

the Daughters of the American  Revolution and was a co-founder of the Budget

corner, Memorial contributions may  be made to the church.
