Michael J. Tyler: (South Bend Tribune 5/24/1999)


June 18, 1952-May 22, 1999 Michael J. Tyler, 46, of Douglas Road, Mishawaka, Ind., passed away at 8:15 a.m. on Saturday, May 22, in the Indiana University Medical Center, Indianapolis, Ind. Mike was born on June 18, 1952, in South Bend, to Edith M. (Fisette) and the late Dwayne A. Tyler. Mike had been a chef for many years at the Elks Lodge #235 in South Bend. Prior to that, he had worked at the University Club and Corby Hall at the University of Notre Dame. He was a 1971 graduate of Marian High School and a member of the BPOE Lodge #235. One of Mike’s loves in life was the Disney character Mickey Mouse. He is survived by his mother, Edith of Mishawaka; a son, Timothy Tyler of Mishawaka; two sisters, Marcia and Jeanne Tyler, both of Mishawaka; and by four brothers, Daniel Tyler of Naples, Fla., Kenneth Tyler of Granger, Ind., Robert Tyler of Evansville, Ind., and Donald Tyler of Mishawaka. Visitation will be from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. on Tuesday in the Thallemer-Goethals Funeral Home, Mishawaka, and one hour prior to services which will be held in the funeral home at 11 a.m. on Wednesday. Interment will follow in the St. Joseph Valley Memorial Park, Granger. Memorial contributions may be made to the charity of donor’s choice. Mike’s family also asks that each of his family member’s and friends consider filling out an organ donor’s card for those in need of a donation.
