Robert Eugene Ulbricht

Robert Eugene Ulbricht, 68, of Scarlet Maple Court, South Bend, Ind., died on Sunday, Sept. 27, at St. Joseph's Medical Center. Robert was born in South Bend on Jan. 9, 1930, to Dale and Bernice Ulbricht.

 

On Jan. 16, 1955, in South Bend, he married the former Shirley M. Stevenson, who survives. He is also survived by his daughter, Lisa A. Palmatier of Anchorage, Alaska; a son, David E. Ulbricht of Bellingham, Wash.; four grandchildren, Cherie and Jeffrey Palmatier, and Courtney and Brieana Ulbricht; and by Pat VanDenBerg and Geoff Park of his extended family.

 

Mr. Ulbricht was an inspector for the Federal Aviation Administration for over 35 years, serving 25 years for the FAA in Anchorage. He was a Air Force veteran, a member of the First Brethren Church of South Bend and a member of the Moose Lodge #1534, in Anchorage. He was a devoted and loving husband, father and grandfather, and an active outdoor sportsman.

 

Memorial services for Mr. Ulbricht will be at 11 a.m. on Thursday at the First Brethren Church, South Bend. There will be no visitation and cremation has taken place. Memorial contributions may be given to First Brethren Church or to the Diabetes Association. The Forest G. Hay Funeral Home is in charge of his arrangements.
