Celia Urban: (Michigan City News Dispatch 10/29/1969)


Celia J. Urban, 78, 1502 Kentucky St., died at 9:35 this morning at St. Anthony Hospital. She had been ill for a week. Funeral services will be Friday at 11 a.m. at St. Stanislaus Church with the Rev. Stanley Dominik officiating. Burial will be in St. Stanislaus Cemetery. The Rosary will be recited at 7:30 tomorrow evening at Ott Funeral Chapel, where friends may call tomorrow afternoon and evening and Friday until the hour of services. Mrs. Urban was born Oct. 13, 1891, in New Carlisle, the daughter of Michael and Josephine Layman. She had lived here for 60 years. She was married first to Frank Kabacinski, who preceded her in death. She then married Alex Urban, who also preceded her in death. Survivors included a son, Richard, this city; six daughters – Ann Schmidt, Genevieve Boyan, Florence Sobkowiak, Dorothy Losiniecki and Alice Bogoslawski, all of this city, and Henrietta Foldenauer, South Bend; 23 grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren; a brother Louis Layman, this city, and two sisters – Verna Barts, South Bend, and Mrs. Agnes Thomas, Elkhart. She was a member of St. Stanislaus Church, Rosary Society, Mothers World War II Unit No. 157 and St. Elizabeth Society.
