Steve Urgonski: (South Bend Tribune 12/20/1965)


Steve Urgonski, 74, of 516 N. College St., died at 8:40 a.m. Sunday in St. Joseph’s Hospital after an illness of two weeks. He was a retired carpenter with Sollitt Construction Co. Born on Dec. 13, 1891, in Terre Coupe, Ind., he had lived in South Bend for 42 years. He married Stella Wroblewski, who survives, on Sept. 12, 1921, in Terre Coupe. Also surviving are two sons, William and Robert, both of South Bend; four grandchildren; two brothers, Joseph and Valentine Jurgonski, both of South Bend, and four sisters, Mrs. Sally Cencelewski, Mrs. Constance Buziak, Mrs. Tekla Kaminski, all of South Bend, and Mrs. Josephine Rzepka, of Terre Coupe. Friends may call after 7 p.m. today at the St. Joseph Funeral Home. Services will be at 9 a.m. Wednesday in St. Stanislaus Catholic Church, Rev. Leonard Chrobot, a nephew, officiating. Burial will be in St. Joseph Cemetery. He was a member of Carpenters Local 413, a charter member of Pulaski Post 357, American Legion, and a veteran of World War I.
