MISHAWAKA -- Leo J. Valdinocci, 85,
of North Mason Street, died Saturday in Saint Joseph Regional
Medical Center.
Survivors include his wife, Wanda; a son,
Denis D. of Massachusetts; and a sister, Irene Gammon of
Granger.
Services will be at a later date. Friends
may call from 4 to 7 p.m. Tuesday in Thallemer-Goethals Funeral
Home.

Leo J. Valdinocci, 85, of Mishawaka,
Ind., passed away Saturday, Aug. 9, in the Saint Joseph Regional
Medical Center, Mishawaka. He was born in Mishawaka to Primo and
Sternia (Canarecci) Valdinocci, and graduated from
Mishawaka High School.
On April 25, 1940, Leo married Wanda C. Bender
and they made their home in Mishawaka. He worked as a machinist
for many years at Ingersoll Rand. Leo was a member of St. Monica
Catholic Church and the De Amicis Club. He was an avid golfer,
and also enjoyed bowling and fishing.
His family includes his wife of 62 years,
Wanda; a son, Denis D. (Patricia A.) Valdinocci of Massachusetts;
a sister, Irene Gammon of Granger, Ind.; five
grandchildren, Jean Valdinocci, Denis Chesbro, Donna Shalek,
Denis Valdinocci II and Christine Collins; two great-
grandchildren, Benjamin Chesbro and Slade Collins; his mother-in-
law, Dollie Bender; and a niece, Lisa Delgado.
Friends may call from 4 to 7 p.m. today in
the Thallemer- Goethals Funeral Home, 503 W. Third St.,
Mishawaka. Services will be held at 1 p.m. on Wednesday in the
funeral home, with Rev. Fr. James Stoyle officiating. Burial will
follow at St. Joseph Valley Memorial Park, Granger. Memorials may
be made to the American Heart Association.
