MISHAWAKA – Services for Todd R. Van Bruaene, 13, of E. Mishawaka Avenue, who died about 7:15 a.m. Wednesday in his home will be held at 12:30 p.m. Saturday in St. Bavo’s Catholic Church. Burial will be in St. Joseph Cemetery. Friends may call from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9p.m. Friday in the Hahn-DeVos Funeral Home. Memorial contributions may be made to the school athletic program.

MISHAWAKA – VanBruaene, Todd R. 13, of East Mishawaka Avenue, died about 7:15 today in his home from a single self-inflicted gunshot wound. The coroner ruled the death a suicide. He was an eight-grade student at John Young Middle School. He was born March 23, 1979 in Mishawaka and was a lifelong area resident.

He is survived by his parents, Deborah and Dennis VanBruaene, at home, and a brother, Timothy at home; maternal grandmother, Virginia of Mishawaka; paternal grandparents, Mary and Clarence VanBruaene of Mishawaka; and a great-grandmother, Sophia of Mishawaka. He was a member of the school football and wrestling teams.
