Henry J. Van De Putte, 83, of East 4th Street, Mishawaka, Ind., died at 5 a.m., Thursday, Nov. 7, in Countryside Place, Mishawaka, after an illness of several months. In 1979, Henry retired from School City of Mishawaka, where he served as a custodian at Mishawaka High School. He was born on July 13, 1913, in Mishawaka, to Julius and Elizabeth (Stroebe), who both preceded him death.
In August of 1958, he married the former Mabel Alrey, who preceded him in death in 1961. He is survived by a niece, Helen L. Huys of Memphis, Tenn.
Services will be at 11 a.m., Monday, Nov. 11, in Thallemer-Goethals Funeral Home, 503 W. Third St., Mishawaka. Visitation will be from 2 to 5 p.m., Sunday, Nov. 10, at the funeral home. Henry was a member of St. Joseph Church, Mishawaka, and was a World War II Army veteran.
