Mary M. Van Der Beke

MISHAWAKA - Mary M. Van Der Beke, 82, of Ironwood Health & Rehabilitation Center, South Bend, formerly of 13th Street, died at 7:30 a.m. Sunday in St. Joseph's Medical Center, South Bend. Mrs. Van Der Beke retired in 1969 from Uniroyal Plastics Co. after 30 years of service. She was born June 29, 1911, in Mishawaka and was a lifelong area resident.

On Jan. 7, 1933, in Mishawaka, as Mary M. Van Goethem, she married Gerard Van Der Beke. He died March 22, 1992. She is survived by a daughter, Louise Schlundt of Mishawaka; four grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; and a sister, Alice Volmer of Mishawaka.

She was a member of St. Bavo's Catholic Church. Services were at 10 a.m. today in the church. Burial will be in Fairview Cemetery. Hahn Funeral Home handled arrangements. Memorial contributions may be made to the church.
