SOUTH BEND – Adolph D “Van” Vanderbosch, 85, of St. Paul’s Retirement Community, died at 10:40 p.m. Saturday in the nursing home. He retired in 1970 after 40 years in men’s clothing sales, working at the former Rasmussen’s and Spiro’s clothing stores. He was born July 7, 1905 in Avilla, and lived in South Bend most of his life. He is survived by a brother, Amandus of Normal, Ill.; 12 nieces; and 10 nephews. He was a member of St. Patrick’s Catholic Church.

 

Services will be at 11 a.m. at the church. Burial will be in St. Joseph Cemetery, Mishawaka. Friends may call from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Tuesday at Thallemer-Goethals Funeral Home, Mishawaka, wher a parish rosary will be said at 7:30 p.m.

 

Editor: He is the son of Herman F. Vanderbosch and Magdalana Stoeckley. He was never married.
