MISHAWAKA - Helen D. VanDeWalle, 74, of Miller's Merry Manor, Wakarusa, formerly of Studebaker Street, died at 11:30 a.m. Tuesday in the nursing home. Mrs. VanDeWalle was born Jan. 9, 1921, in Mishawaka. On Jan. 31, 1942, in Mishawaka, as Helen D. Kunce, she married Marcel ''Marc'' VanDeWalle. He died May 4, 1986. She is survived by two daughters, Cindy Navarre of South Bend and Carol VanDeWalle of Mishawaka; four grandchildren; a great-grandchild; two sisters, Mabel Brubaker and Martha Nicolini, both of Mishawaka; and a brother, Joseph Kunce of Houston. She was a member of St. Monica's Catholic Church.
Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Friday in Hahn Funeral Home. Burial will be in St. Joseph Valley Memorial Park, Granger. Friends may call from 3 to 7 p.m. today in the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be made to Alzheimer's Association.
