Larry D. Vanett, 43, residing on Arbor Pointe Drive, South Bend, Ind., died following a sudden illness at 2:21 p.m. on Thursday, Nov. 4, in his residence. Larry was born on Feb. 19, 1956, in South Bend, the son of Donald and Pat (Thomas) Vanett, and had lived in South Bend all of his life. He was formerly employed with Ameritech as a distribution operator.

On May 17, 1986, in South Bend, he married Shelly L. Goen, who survives. He is also survived by his mother and stepfather, Pat and John W. Forslund of South Bend; his father, Donald Vanett of South Bend; a sister, Debra Vanett of Eugene, Ore.; and by two nieces, Laci and Josi Sprecher, both of Eugene. Larry was an active member of ABATE, was a member of Communication Workers Associa-tion Local 49, and was a graduate of Riley High School.

Services for Larry D. Vanett will be held at 10 a.m. on Wednesday, Nov. 10, in the Palmer Funeral Home, 2528 Mishawaka Avenue, South Bend. Rev. Rick Scarberry, pastor of Lighthouse Baptist Church, will officiate. Burial will follow at Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens, Osceola, Ind.

Friends may call from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. on Tuesday in the Palmer Funeral Home.
