Marie Mathilda VanHeesbeke

August 16, 1878 - August 31, 1955  

New Carlisle - Mrs. Clement VanHeesbeke, Rt. 1, died at 1:40pm Wednesday in St Joseph Hospital, South Bend, after a two month illness.  She was born in Westdorpe, Holland, August 16, 1878, and came to South Bend 53 years ago.  She was married in Holland, September 11, 1902, as Marie Buysse.  Her husband survives.   Also surviving are two sons, Cyriel and Arthur of New Carlisle; two daughters, Mrs. Victor VanGoeye, also of New Carlisle, and Mrs. Cecil Butler, of Bluffton IN;  three brothers, Edmond Buysse, in Holland; Fred, of Gobles MI; and Raymond, of South Bend; seven sisters, Mrs. Elodie Wulfaert, Mrs. Prudence Ranschaert, Mrs. Camiel VanWynsberghe, Mrs. Emiel Lekens and Mrs. Walter Davidson, all of South Bend; Mrs. Fred Rinard of Mishawaka and Mrs. Bertha VanHecke of Dowagiac MI; eight grandchildren and five great grandchildren.   Friends may call after 2pm Thursday in the DeVos Funeral Home in Mishawaka.  Funeral services will be held at 9am Saturday in Sacred Heart Catholic Church, South Bend.  Rev. John Vrabley will officiate.  Burial will be in Highland Cemetery.  The rosary will be recited at 7:30pm Friday in the funeral home.
