Irma Van Lul

MISHAWAKA – Mrs. Irma Van Lul, 83, formerly of 417 W. 6th Street, died at 2:25 a.m. today in the health care unit of St. Paul’s Retirement Center after a lengthy illness. She was the mother of Fire Chief Gene A. Goddard. Born on Jan. 22, 1899 in Belgium, she lived most of her life in Mishawaka.

 

On Feb. 21, 1938 she married Leopold Van Lul, and he died on June 4, 1967. Surviving besides her son ate two daughters, Mrs. Betty Bobson of Diamond Lake in Cassopolis and Mrs. Evelyn Fuller of Plantation, Fla.; eight grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren. She was a member of the BK Club Auxiliary.

 

Services will be at 10 a.m. Monday in St. Bavo’s Catholic Church, where she was a member of the Rosary Society. Rev. Paul Beuter, pastor, will officiate. Burial will be in St. Joseph Cemetery. Friends may call from 6 to 8 p.m. Saturdy.
