David Van Nevel

March 24, 1959 - Sept. 27, 2000

David Van Nevel, 41, of Woodlawn, Tenn., died on Wednesday, Sept. 27, in Blanchfield Army Hospital, Montgomery County, Tenn.

He was born on March 24, 1959, in Mishawaka, Ind., the son of Richard and Theresa (Ganser) Van Nevel, Mishawaka. He was preceded in death by a brother, John Van Nevel.

He was a retired U.S. Army staff sergeant, and was a member of Woodlawn Baptist Church. He was secretary of the Woodlawn Park Parents Club, and was a member of the Boy Scouts of America.

He is survived by his parents; his wife, Rogina Carroll Van Nevel of Woodlawn; two sons, Shawn Allen Van Nevel and Steven Douglas Van Nevel, both of Woodlawn; five brothers, Richard Van Nevel of Kansas, Larry Van Nevel of Indiana, Michael Van Nevel of Kentucky, Joe Van Nevel and Jim Van Nevel, both of Indiana; and by a sister, Mary Hope of Hawaii.

Services were at 10 a.m. on Monday, Oct. 2, in the McReynolds-Nave & Larson Chapel, Clarksville, Tenn., with full military honors. The Rev. Willie Freeman officiated.
