MISHAWAKA – Richard H. Van Ooteghem, 64, of South West Street, died at 5:52 p.m. Friday in St. Joseph Hospital after an illness. He was owner and operator of Van Ooteghem & Sons Contractors. Born Dec. 2, 1927 in Mishawaka, he was a lifelong area resident.

On Oct. 19, 1949, in St. Bavo’s Catholic Church, he married Mary R. Signorino. She survives with a daughter, Lora Wade of South Bend; a son Richard M. of Anchorage, Alaska; two grandchildren; and a sister Marlene Blasko of Mishawaka. He was a member of Brick Layers Union Local18, Construction Builders Association, BK Club, BK Bowlers and St. Bavo’s Catholic Church.

Services will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday in St. Bavo’s Catholic Church. Burial will be in Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens, Osceola. Friends may call from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Monday in Hahn-DeVos Funeral Home.
