WALKERTON - Crystal S. VanParys, 75, passed away Friday,
September 5, 2008, in Hospice House, South Bend, IN. Mrs.
VanParys was born July 6, 1933, in Cadott, WI, to Thomas and Elva
(Witt) Allen, and had lived in the Walkerton area
for 20 years, coming from South Bend. On May 25, 1962, in Niles,
MI, she was married to Rene M. VanParys, who preceded her in
death in November 2000. She was also preceded in death by her
parents, three sisters and one brother. Survivors include two
sons, Greg Graddy of Heber Springs, AR, and Mark (Beth)
VanParys of South Bend; two grandsons, Major Bryan (Jessie)
Graddy and Justin (Chrissy) Graddy; three great-grandchildren;
and one sister, Doris (Al) VanDenHeuvel of MN. Mrs.
VanParys was a retired office manager with Whiteford Truck Lines
of South Bend, a member of St. Patrick's Church of Walkerton, was
a site coordinator for Real Services of Walkerton and devoted
many hours helping her friends at Real Services.
A memorial service will be held Tuesday at 11:00 a.m. Eastern Time in Rannells Funeral Home, Koontz Lake Chapel, with Father Michael Winkowski officiating. Cremation has taken place. Friends may visit with the family on Tuesday in the funeral home after 10:00 a.m. until the time of services.
