Maxine Lavo Van Tornhout

Maxine Lavo Van Tornhout, 86, of St. Petersburg, died Monday in the emergency room at St. Anthony’s Hospital.  She came here in 1950 from her native South Bend IN.  She was a court referee for the State of Florida Insurance Commissioner’s Office and later retired as an examiner for the Department of Motor Vehicles. She was a member of the West Coast and St. Petersburg Doll Clubs.  She traveled extensively, was a storyteller and published her family history.

 

Survivors include two daughters, Kathy V. Donatello and Michele M. Pearson, both of St. Petersburg; two grandchildren, Phillip Pearson and Sanja M. Hicks; and five great grandchildren.  E. Dale Gunter Funeral Home and Cremation Services, St Petersburg FL.
