MISHAWAKA - Services for Ivo. A. Van Wassenhove, 97, formerly of Mishawaka, who died at 4:30 p.m. Saturday in St. Paul’s Health Care Center after an illness, will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday in St. Bavo’s Catholic Church. Burial will be in St. Joseph Cemetery. Friends may call from 4 to 8 p.m. Tuesday in Hahn’s DeVos Funeral Home. The rosary will be recited at 7:30 p.m. Tuesday.

 

A former resident of 602 W. 8th Street, he worked at Uniroyal for 42 years and retired in 1965. HE was born on Oct. 18, 1892 in Zomergren, Belgium.

 

On Aug. 25, 1921, in Mishawaka, he married Marie C. Bauters, who died on April 6, 1980. Survivors include a son, Henry A. Van Wassen of Pittsburgh; four grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; anf a sister Celeina Bauters of Mishawaka. He was a member of St. Bavo’s Catholic Church and was a World War I Army veteran. Memorial contributions may be made to Sister Ann’s Special Education class at St. Bavo’s school or to St. Bavo’s Church.
