SOUTH BEND - Mary D. Varga, 72, of
South Jackson Street, died at 4:40 p.m. Monday in Regency Place.
Mrs. Varga retired in 1984 from Curtis Products. She was born May
14, 1922, in Ireland, and lived in South Bend since 1946, coming
from Ireland.
On July 2, 1946, in South Bend, as Mary Lavery,
she married Julius J. Varga. He died Nov. 26, 1988. She is
survived by a daughter, Carol L. Winkler of South Bend; a son,
Jay J. of South Bend; one grandchild; two step-grandchildren; and
a brother, Patrick Lavery of South Hampton, England.
Memorial services will be at 9 a.m. Thursday
in St. Patrick's Catholic Church. Cremation has taken place.
Burial will be in Cedar Grove Cemetery. There will be no
visitation. Zahoran Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
