Rose M. Varga (June 9, 1913 - Aug. 16,
2002).
Rose M. Varga, 89, formerly of South
William Street, passed away at 9:45 p.m. Friday, Aug. 16, in the
Fountainview Place Nursing Home.
Mrs. Varga was born on June 9, 1913, in South
Bend, Ind., to Michael and Frances Bojtor. Rose was a
former member of the Hungarian Democratic Club and the St. Anne
Society of Our Lady of Hungary Church. On Aug. 8, 1931, in South
Bend, as Rose Bojtor, she married John S. Varga, who died on Aug
31, 1974. Rose was also preceded in death by her parents; a son,
John Varga; a sister, Matilda Fabian; a brother, George
Bojtor; and by a brother-in-law, Alex Horvath.
She is survived by a son, Frank Varga of
Osceola, Ind., and his former wife, Rosemary; a daughter-in-law,
Kay; six grandchildren, Susan, Sandra, Sheila, Sheryl, Christian
and Andrew; 12 great-grandchildren; two sisters, Elizabeth
(Thomas) Hojnacki of South Bend and Mary Horvath of
Edwardsburg, Mich.; a brother, Frank (Jean) Bojtor of South Bend;
and by a brother-in-law, Zigmund Fabian of South Bend, and a
sister-in-law, Garnett Bojtor.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be
celebrated at 10 a.m. Wednesday, Aug. 21, in Our Lady of Hungary
Church. Burial will follow at St. Joseph Valley Memorial Park.
Family and friends may call from 2 to 4 and 6
to 8 p.m. Tuesday in the Zahoran Funeral Home, 1826 S. Kemble
Avenue, where a Rosary will be recited at 3 p.m.
Memorial contributions may be made to Our
Lady of Hungary Church.
