South Bend Tribune 4/27/2006

Vita Marie Vaszari, 88, Dugdale, South Bend, passed away with her family members by her side at 10:05 a.m. Wednesday, April 26, in the Holy Cross Health and Rehabilitation Center, South Bend. Vita was born on June 8, 1917, in Mishawaka, as the daughter of the late Pasquale and Anna (Jenna) Digirolamo. A sister, Josephine Sands, preceded her in death.

On September 1, 1945, in South Bend, as the former Vita Marie Digirolamo, she married Julius Vaszari, who also preceded her in death in April 1981. She leaves to cherish her memories one daughter, Regina Vaszari of South Bend; one son, John (Renata) Vaszari of Rancho Palos Verdes, CA; five grandchildren, Ken (Pam) Bloss of Walkerton, IN, Danny (Becky) Bloss of Niles, MI, Christina Vaszari, John Vaszari and Robert Vaszari, all of Rancho Palos Verdes, CA; five great-grandchildren, Zach, Ashley, Jake, Austin and Danielle Bloss; three sisters, Lucy Kaplachski of Mishawaka, Annie Delio of Berwin, IL, and Angie Trittipo of Mishawaka; and one brother, Joe (Alice) Digirolamo, also of South Bend.

Vita enjoyed the 12 years she spent living in Venice, FL. She enjoyed spending time with her children and grandchildren, and especially cooking for them. She loved to polka dance, but what she loved the most was her grandchildren, cherishing every moment that she was around them. Everyone will remember Vita for her smile; she was always smiling and could light up the room with it.

Friends may call from 3:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. on Friday, April 28th, in the Hahn Funeral Home, 505 W. 8th Street, Mishawaka. Funeral services will be held at noon on Saturday, April 29th, in the funeral home. Burial will follow at Highland Cemetery, South Bend. The family requests that, in lieu of flowers, memorial contributions be made in Vita's name to Harbor Light Hospice, 300 N. Michigan, Suite 450, South Bend, IN 46601.
