Linda Vergauwen of Jackson Road, South Bend, passed away on Sunday evening, Aug. 1, 1999 at 8:30 P.M. in her residence after an illness. Mrs. Vergauwen was born on January 26, 1945 in Tell City, Indiana as the daughter of the late Cecil P. Burke and the surviving Dorothy (Miller) Burke.

 

On April 29, 1964 as the former Linda Lucille Burke she married Charles Richard Vergauwen who survives her. Also surviving are a son and his wife, Richard and Sue Vergauwen of Elkhart, IN, and a daughter and her husband, Amy and Jonathan Zook of Edwardsburg, MI. She is also survived by a sister, Rose Gordon of Granger, IN and two brothers, Patrick D. Burke of Osceola, IN and Cecil "Don" Burke of South Bend and by three grandchildren, Christian Zook, Conner Vergauwen and Lyssa Vergauwen.

 

Services for Mrs. Vergauwen will be held on Thursday August 5th at 10:00 A.M. in the Hahn Funeral Home, 505 W. 8th Street, Mishawaka with Rev. Pike Thomas officiating. Entombment will follow at St. Joseph Valley Memorial Park, Granger, IN. Friends may call Wednesday August 4th from 2:00- 4:00 and 6:00-8:00 P.M. in the Hahn Funeral Home. Contributions in memory of Mrs. Vergauwen may be made to Hospice of St. Joseph County, Inc., 111 Sunnyside Court, South Bend, IN 46637-3437. "May Angels Sing Thee To Thy Rest!"
