Frank Verhagen

MISHAWAKA - Frank Verhagen, 23, of 1118 W. 8th Street, who came to Mishawaka from his home in Molenbeck, Belgium 20 years ago, died Wednesday evening in St. Joseph Hospital. A lung aliment of four week’s duration caused his death. Born Jan. 14, 1909 in Belgium, he came here at the age of three with his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Leopold Verhagen, who survive.

 

He leaves his wife Helen, formerly Miss Helen Madou, whom he married in Mishawaka on Nov. 5, 1927, and one son, Frank Jr. A sister Mathilda and threeApril 13, 1936 - Nov. 11, 2007 brothers, John, Julius and Arthur, all reside at home.

 

Funeral rites will be conducted from St. Bavo’s Roman Catholic Church Saturday morning at 8 o’clock, with Rev. Otto Keller officiating. Burial will be in St. Joseph Cemetery. The rosary will be recited Friday evening at 7:30 p.m. in the residence of his mother-in-law, Mrs. Alice Madou, 916 W. 6th Street, and the body will be viewed there from this evening until the hour of services.
