Rene Vermeersch

MISHAWAKA - Rene Vermeersch, aged 66, 549 W. Fourth Street, died at 6:30 p.m. Tuesday in his home. He had been ill for three months. Mr. Vermeersch was born in Aalter, Belgium April 18, 1874 and came here 40 years ago from that city.

 

He married Clemence Coppens in 1908. She died 24 years ago. Surviving are two stepsons, Henry and Cyriel Coppens and one step-daughter, Mrs. Theo Verleye, all of this city.

 

Friends may call at the residence from tonight until the hour of services which will take place at 9 a.m. Friday in St. Bavo’s Roman Catholic Church. Rev. Otto J. Keller, pastor, will officiate and burial will be in St. Joseph Cemetery. Mr. Vereersch was the oldest member of the Mishawaka Pigeon club. The rosary will be recited at 7:30 p.m. Thursday in the church.
