Josephine Vernasco

MISHAWAKA – Mrs. Josephine Vernasco, 63, of 313 W. 13th Street, died Friday night in St. Joseph Hopistal. She had been ill for two months. She was born in Santarcangelo de Romagna, Italy, from where she came to Mishawaka 42 years ago.

 

Mrs. Vernasco had charge of the kitchen at the Regal Lanes Bowling Alley which is operated by two of her sons. Surviving are George N., Elmo V. and Walter L. Vernasco, all of this city; eight grandchildren; two brothers, Dominic Bezi of Mishawaka, and John Bezi of Italy, and four sisters. Mrs. Pio Marchi of this city, Mrs. Mathilda Zanotti of Framingham, Mass, and Mrs. Louise Bruni and Mrs. Anna Carlini, both of Italy.

 

Friend may call in the DeVos Chapel after 7 p.m. today. Funeral services will be held Monday in the DeVos Chapel. Burial will be in Fairview Cemetery. The rosary will be recited at 7:30 today in the chapel.

 

Editor: As Joseph Bezi she married Theodore Vernasco 5-7-1922 in St. Bavo’s Catholic Church. He died 5-9-1960.
