Mrs. Peter Vernasco, aged 79, of 423 West Eighth street, died at 6 p.m. Tuesday in St. Joseph hospital after an illness of six months. Mrs. Vernasco was born April 14, 1864, in Carpineto, Italy, and came here 21 years ago. She was married Oct. 24, 1872, in Italy. Before her marriage she was Marie Ferrettie. Surviving are her husband; four sons, Private Tarino Vernasco, Camp McCloud, Wash., and Victor, Theodore and Joseph Vernasco, all of Mishawaka; four daughters, Mrs. Peter Perozzoli, of Italy, Mrs. Carmela Fermi, Mrs. Delfina Minotti and Mrs. Desolina Belli, all of Mishawaka; 15 grandchildren and one great-grandchild. Friends may call in the residence from 2 p.m. Thursday until the hour of the funeral services which will take place at 9 a.m. Friday in St. Bavo’s Roman Catholic church. Rev. Otto J. Keller, pastor, will officiate and burial will be in Fairview Catholic cemetery.
