MISHAWAKA - Erma Vervaet, 86 OF 811 w. Eighth Street, died early this morning in Medco Nursing Center, South Bend, after an illness. She retired from Bendix Corporation in 1966. She was born Sept. 2, 1901 in South Bend and lived in this area all her life. On March 12, 1932 as Erma Landuit, she married Michael Vervaet, who died in 1975. Survivors include three sisters, Alma Geissel and Louise Martsolf, both of South Bend, and Florence Maenhaut of Granger, and several nieces and nephews.

Services will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday in St. Bavo’s Catholic Church with burial in Riverview Cemetery in South Bend. Friends may call from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Tuesday at Thallemer-Goethels Funeral Home, where a wake service will be at 7:30 p.m. Tuesday.
