30, 1937 - May 2, 2010NEW CARLISLE - Ronald Lee Vetter, 72, of New Carlisle, Indiana, passed away Sunday, May 2, 2010, in his home. Ronald was born June 30, 1937, in Bremer County, Iowa, to Reverend Walter C. and Esther (Piehler) Vetter. He retired from State Farm Insurance in Bloomington, Illinois, as a supervisor of underwriters. Surviving are his children, Stacey (Mark Orellana) Vetter-Weiss of New Carlisle, Indiana, Susan Miles of New Carlisle, Indiana, Shelley (Craig) Vetter-Hershberger of Decatur, Indiana, Steven (Kerry) Vetter of St. Louis, Missouri; grandchildren, Boston Weiss, Elizabeth Weiss, Drake Vetter, Ava Vetter and Cassie Gibson; sisters, Carol Meyers of Marengo, Illinois, Gloria Nelson of Rockford, Illinois, Virginia (Alan) Miller of Decatur, Indiana; a brother, Eugene (Judy Eggert) Vetter of Indianapolis, Indiana; and several nieces and nephews. Ronald was a 1959 graduate of Purdue University where he held a Bachelor of Science degree in Agriculture. He was also a member of the Farmhouse Fraternity at Purdue. Friends may visit from noon to 1 p.m. Thursday, May 6th, in the Kaniewski Funeral Home, 201 S. Filbert Street, New Carlisle, IN, which is in charge of arrangements. Private services will follow.
