Vera Vince

Vera (Buckner) Vince, 89, died on Sunday, Jan. 25, in Lees Summit, Mo. She was born on Nov. 17, 1908, in Paducah, Ky., to Alonzo and Willie Myrtle (Ryan) Williams.

As Vera Williams, in August 1924, she married James Weldon Buckner in Providence, Ky. They came to live in South Bend, Ind., in 1946. Mr. Buckner died in 1958. In July 1965 she married Carl J. Vince in South Bend. Mr. Vince also preceded her in death in 1985.

Mrs. Vince left South Bend in 1994 to live with her daughter in Lees Summit. She is survived by two daughters, Eva Cascelia McCance of Lees Summit and Marilyn (Buckner) Johnson of South Bend. She leaves two grandchildren, Malcolm McCance of Camden Point, Mo., and Sue Ellen Schut of Cuernavaca, Mexico, and by six great-grandchildren.

Services were held on Thursday, Jan. 29, at Longview Chapel Christian Church, Lees Summit, Mo., and in Mount Moriah Cemetery, Kansas City, Mo.
